聖モーゼスの殉教記念日

今日は聖モーゼス(黒人のモーゼス、大勇士のモーゼスとも呼ばれています)の殉教記念日です。聖モーゼスはイエスを知る前に太陽を崇拝しました。人殺し、泥棒だったモーゼスは、ある日ワディ・ナトルーン「涸れ谷」で人生の転機が訪れました。それは、聖イセゼールス修道士と出会った時でした。聖イセゼールスにイエスの話を初めて知り、マタイ福音書の「私が来たのは、義人を招くためではなく、罪人を招くためである」を聞いた瞬間に涙を流し、今までの人生を悔い改めることを決心しました。数年間も経たないうちに、モーゼスが洗礼を受け、修道士になりました。しかし、ある日ベルベル人が修道院に入り込んで盗もうとしましたが、それを事前に知った聖モーゼスが逃げもせずに彼らが来るまでお祈りしていました。聖モーゼスは405年にベルベル人により斬首させられました。聖モーゼスの人生は皆様一人一人のために非常に明確なメッセージが潜んでいます。それは、聖モーゼスのように希望を失ってしまった人は、今から神のこと知り、一緒に歩んでいくことが決して遅くはないということです。皆様が大勇士の聖モーゼスのように神の道を最後まで歩んでいけるようにお祈りしております。
On this day, the great saint Moses the strong was martyred. Saint Moses before he found the one true God, he worshiped the sun , loved to drink excessively. He killed, he robbed, and he commited the evil. He went to Wadi al Natrun to find the true God and as soon as he found him he repented of his many sins, baptized and became a monk. He was martyred by the barbarians when they attached the monastery. Repentance has a great power, it converted a murderer, an adulterer, and a robber into a great father, a saint who who struggled against Satan and regained his purity before God. May his prayers be with all of us , Amen.
